How to Play World Guesser
World Guesser is a geography game where you watch real walking videos from cities around the world and try to guess their location on an interactive map.
Game Modes
Solo Mode
- Choose a region from the home page (Global, Europe, Americas, Asia, Middle East)
- Watch a walking video from a random city in that region
- Click anywhere on the map to guess the location
- See how close your guess was and earn points based on accuracy
- Continue to the next round to explore more cities
Multiplayer Mode
- Click "Multiplayer" in the navigation bar
- Configure your game settings (video duration, number of rounds, distance unit)
- Create a room and share the room code with friends
- All players watch the same video and make their guesses simultaneously
- Compare scores and see who has the best geography knowledge!
Scoring System
- Perfect: within 5 km (3.1 miles) — 300 points
- Correct: within 25 km (15.5 miles) — 200 points
- Close: within 600 km (373 miles) — 100 points
- Far: within 1000 km (621 miles) — 50 points
- Miss: over 1000 km (621 miles) away — 25 points
Tips & Strategies
- Look for architectural styles, street signs, and languages to identify regions
- Pay attention to vegetation, climate, and urban layout
- Vehicle license plates and traffic patterns can provide clues
- In multiplayer mode, communication is key - discuss clues with friends!
- Practice makes perfect - explore different regions to learn city characteristics
Distance Units
You can choose between kilometers (km) or miles for measuring distance. Both units use the same scoring thresholds, just displayed in your preferred format.
Video Duration
In multiplayer mode, you can customize how long each video plays (typically 10-60 seconds). Longer videos give more time to spot clues, while shorter videos increase the challenge and excitement.
